| The Unfinished Letter |
It was a rainy afternoon. Aryan was cleaning his old bookshelf when a dusty, yellow envelope fell out. There was no name on it, only a date from ten years ago.
Curious, he opened it. Inside was a letter written in his father’s handwriting. His father had passed away five years ago, but seeing that handwriting again made Aryan’s heart skip a beat.
The letter started with: "Dear Aryan, if you are reading this, it means I am no longer there to tell you this in person. I want you to know the secret of the old oak tree in our backyard..."
Aryan ran to the backyard. The old oak tree stood there, tall and silent. He remembered his father used to sit under this tree for hours. He started digging near the roots, just as the letter hinted.
After a few minutes, his shovel hit something hard. It was a small wooden box. With trembling hands, he opened it. Inside, there wasn't gold or money. Instead, there was a collection of old photographs of Aryan as a baby, a silver medal his father won in school, and a small note that said:
"The greatest treasure I ever had was watching you grow up. Be kind, be brave."
Tears rolled down Aryan’s cheeks. The rain continued to fall, but for the first time in years, he felt his father’s presence right beside him.
